Sobral- Favorite French Shop!

When I was in France with my mom in March, we found this little shop on the Ile Saint-Louis called Sobral. Everything in the store consists of jewelery, knicknacks, and home decor made from polyester resin. Bright, happy, and beautifully quirky, Carlos Sobral began as a designer in the 60's when he crafted purses and shoes for hippies!

The store has many locations, so if you ever find yourself near one- go look!!!! At the very least browse the collection. I'm definitely going to try to DIY a photo frame in the same fashion as this photo frame.

Check this stuff out!!

Also, TOMORROW IS THE PREMIERE OF HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE!!!!! AND I HAVE TICKETS!!!!!!

goodnight all ;) and remember to be jealous of Claire, because she's basking in the Hawaiin sun (moon, currently) as I type!

Kristian Aadnevik- New Favorite Designer!

Kristian Aadnevik, a designer hailing from the best country ever -Norway, of course- a magical man who is bold, bright, and the creator pieces that are simultaneously soft and structured.

Here's a tast of his Spring/Summer 2009 collection:
(click on to enlarge)

Aadnevik describes his designs as "undecided between fairytale and horror," but either way they're like a dream! I'll take one of each ;)

When to spend?!

Hello Dolls, I'm listening to Celtic Women!
I recently spent over 200 dollars of my graduation money on makeup, and was forced to contemplate that elusive question:
Is this worth it?

When does the money actually make the difference?

Foundation
Concealer
Blush
Eyeshadow

When does it not matter?

Mascara
Lip Gloss
Lip Stick
Eyeliner

Remember, these are "more what you'd call guidelines than actual rules"
(yes I just quoted pirates of the caribbean)
Its good to remember this-

Anything that you are laying directly on your skin,
the extra money insures that it will last longer,
blend truer, have more vibrant color, layer properly,
and be the kindest to your skin.

Also, if you have some extra time this summer,
go see Away We Go starring John Krasinski
(yes it's Jim from the office, with a BEARD- and he is still just as adorable!)
and Maya Rudolph (I love sexy pregnant ladies)
Its hilarious and suuuuuuper cute.
Lets all hope that we all dress as well pregnant as the character Verona does.

happy things:
getting to go back to sleep
sparkles!
feeling a little bit badass
root beer floats
feather earrings
belly dancers
Cher
Choo Choo Trains
kisses
bubbles
lemondrops

Too much love!
CLaire
