Dreaming in Falling Leaves

Autumn is here-
and the bright shadows, dewy pinks, and au natural shimmer of summer
are fading as fast as the sunny days.
Take inspiration from natures changing colors and soften your makeup to the warmer tones of the leaves:
pumpkin, camel, plum, mocha, cranberry, moss green, mustard, soft grey...

Try a stained lip

A smoky eye

Or have a little fun

Stay warm, smile, and keep checking the blog!
And if you are in the throes if back to school blues, think of:
spongebob squarepants
marketa irglova
sunflowers
irish accents
pancakes!
watching silly youtube videos
cheese slicers
finding vintage chanel for 70 at value village (HOLLAAA!)
happy text messages
freshly sharpened pencils
brothers :D

Penny-Wise

To many, this may sound crazy, but I absolutely love grey and drizzly Seattle weather.
It seems comforting and poetic to me.
You can either go and talk a walk and smell the rain,
or stay inside with an excuse to wear some cashmere, nursing a fat mug of earl grey.

Summer has almost come and gone in a flash of heat, sweat, and bright color.
Autumn is nearly here!
Meaning school: getting up early, going to bed late, STUDYING,
and having not nearly enough time.

That in mind, you want to keep your beauty regimen as simple and easy as possible.
You are going to have your naked days (at least your face is... hahaha!)
but when you want a little more polish,
a little bit of effort can make all the difference.

MAC Eyeshadow Base in Bare Study

This eyeshadow base goes on sheer but can be layered,

with a creamy goldish pearl color that looks good on every skin tone.

It can easily be left alone as an eyeshadow but works amazingly as a base,

especially in warm and hot climates where it prevents ANY creasing and keeps makeup on for record amounts of time. I used this during the record high heat spell in Seattle this summer and my eye shadow was the only thing not dripping off my face!

Smiths Rosebud Salve

This classic formula softens and conditions lips better than any other product I've used, giving lasting results and subtle shine. There is a slight pinky hue and a lovely rosy smell that make this product invaluable to my makeup kit.

Maybelline Great Lash

When I was little, I stabbed myself in the eye with my moms tube of this haha

.

The wetter formula goes on quickly and smoothly, the small brush makes accurate application easy and clump-free. It is light enough that it doesn't weigh lashes down, allowing them to curl. It is cheap and easy to come by, and has great lasting power. If you can't (won't) buy anything else, this product is the fastest and easiest way to look great.

Bobbi Brown Concealer
I use a stick version for fuller coverage, but there is a pot that is creamier and comes with a fabulously silky powder to set it with. Bobbi Brown has by far the best concealer around, with excellent color selection, excellent blendability and full, creamy coverage. Use on under eye circles after a long night of studying, or to cover up and redness/acne that may emerge. If you set it with powder it will last for as long as you need it to. ( in the case of a large and annoying zit, you might consider reapplying at lunch time)

Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain OR Tarte Stain
Smells very nice, you should put it on after moisturizing for blending ability. Will last all day, giving a natural flush that appears to come from within. Comes in a wide variety of shades, all of which will look good on just about anybody. Cheek color is the secret to looking healthy and glowy, and this is low maintenence and easy.
