Blogs You Should Follow: Studs & Pearls
I thought it would be a great idea to begin a new little post topic of blogs our readers should check out. My first recommendation is Studs & Pearls.

As a lover of all things DIY, Kirsten at Studs & Pearls blows my freaking mind because her blog is purely DIY. Her vast creativity and ability to craft DIY tutorials accessible and do-able by every skill level is something I've always admired.
Here's a few of my favorite projects she's done:

(DIY Burberry studded trench)

(DIY statement rings from random found objects)

(DIY lanyard weave cuffs)
Check it out and bask in the cleverness!!
Love,
B

Natural Looking Lipstick
A great way to find a natural looking lipstick is to first identify the color of your naked lips.
Are they pinker? more beige? more golden?
Then, think about the color of your skin.
Are you a pinky (warm) or yellow (cool) or neutral undertone?
Once you have figured that out, you can go looking for complementary shades.
Try and find a shade that is close to the color of your lips
and that is in the same tone range as your skin.
Here are some of my favorites:
Pink lips, cool toned skin should go with golden pinks and soft rosy corals
MAC Shy Girl
Estee Lauder in Crystal Tiramisu

(estee lauder's crystal range is beautiful for a sheer, shimmery color thats not too glossy)
cool skin and golden lips go for caramels and peaches
Revlon Super Lustrous in Fleshtone
MAC freckletone
Warm skin and pink lips should go for true pinks
Estee Lauder in Crystal Baby
Revlon Superlustrous in Pink in the Afternoon
and neutrals can go either way!
MAC Cherish
Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

(looks dark, but goes on totally sheer and barely there)

A Few of My Latest Creations
Hello Lovelies!
School has settled down temporarily. I expect it will be insane again in a week...
My favorite study break is a good hour of playing with makeup.
Besides, HALLOWEEN IS COMING UP.
So I need to start practicing!
Here is what I have the past few days:

the inspiration- a MAC Halloween face chart

This look was actually quite easy once the blocking of the shape was done!
just black eyeliner blended out!
I expect if I worked full-time for MAC I would rock this sort of look more often.
sorry about the terrible quality of the photos.
my camera always makes the makeup look funny and distorts the color and dimensions,
so i use the webcam to get a more accurate shot of the look.
the downside is the grainy, poopy quality. :/

How to pick lipsticks!

Drooling Over Loafers
I know, you're probably thinking, "Berit, what could be more sickeningly hipster than loafers?" The answer is... I don't know. BUT I WANT LEOPARD PRINT ONES DAMN IT. So please cast your judgmental eyes somewhere else if you don't want to ogle over the unholy class of these kicks with me.
